How do I play Flagdle?

You see a partially masked flag. Type a country name in the search field: if correct you win, otherwise new tiles are revealed and you have 1 or 2 tries left.

Is the flag the same for everyone?

Yes. The daily flag is determined by the date and identical for every player worldwide. That is what lets you compare scores with your friends.

When does a new flag drop?

A new flag is available every day at midnight in your local timezone. The daily challenge and quizzes refresh at the same time.

Do I need an account to play?

No. Flagdle is completely free, ad-free, and runs directly in your browser. Your stats are stored locally — no data is sent to a server.

How many countries are covered?

Flagdle covers the 195 UN-recognised countries, with their official flag, capital and continent. Country names are available in French and English.

Can I replay after finishing?

Yes. After the daily flag, switch to replay mode and practise on a random different flag. Useful to improve without waiting for tomorrow.

What are the game modes?

All 195 UN-recognised countries are in the rotation, from the best-known flags to the rarest. After the daily run, a replay mode draws a random flag with no limit. Everything is free and your stats stay in your browser.

How to play Flags in 4 steps

Look at the flag. A flag partially hidden behind 9 tiles is displayed.
Guess a country. Type a country name in the search bar and submit.
Read the clues. If you're wrong, more tiles are revealed to help you.
Solve in 3 tries. You get 3 attempts in total, then share your result.

Tips for recognising a flag

Start by identifying dominant colours and layout: vertical or horizontal stripes, Nordic cross, triangle at the hoist.
Central symbols often reveal a region: a sun for South America, a cedar for Lebanon, a crescent for countries with a Muslim tradition.
Pan-African colours (green, yellow, red) and pan-Arab colours (red, white, black, green) immediately narrow the field.
When hesitating between neighbours, play the best-known one: it costs a try but reveals three more tiles.
Watch for near-identical pairs: Chad and Romania, Monaco and Indonesia, Ireland and Côte d'Ivoire differ only by a shade or an aspect ratio.
