What is Flagdle?

Flagdle is a daily flag guessing game inspired by Wordle. Identify the country in 3 tries: the flag is hidden behind 9 tiles that reveal themselves with each attempt. A new flag every day, the same for every player worldwide — perfect for comparing scores with friends or on the daily leaderboard.

Beyond flags, Flagdle offers five other modes to test your knowledge of the 195 UN-recognised countries: capitals, progressive hints, Worldle (silhouette), daily challenge and themed quizzes. Everything is free, no account, no intrusive ads.

How to play in 4 steps

  1. Look at the flag partially masked by 9 tiles.
  2. Type a country name in the search bar.
  3. If you're wrong, more tiles are revealed.
  4. You get 3 tries total. Share your result afterwards.

All game modes

  • Capitals find the capital of the displayed country in 3 tries, with progressive hints on the continent and first letter.
  • Hints guess the mystery country with progressive clues: continent, population, language. 6 tries to solve it.
  • Worldle from a country silhouette, guess its name in 6 tries. Distance, direction and continent guide you.
  • Daily Challenge 6 chained mini-games to explore a different country every day: flag, capital, neighbours, continent and more.
  • Themed Quiz 10 daily questions on world geography, history, sport or literature.
  • Leaderboard daily, weekly and monthly Daily Challenge scores.

Tips to improve your score

  • Start by identifying dominant colors and layout (vertical or horizontal stripes, crosses, stars).
  • Central symbols often reveal a continent: a sun for South America, a cedar for Lebanon, a crescent for Muslim-majority countries, and so on.
  • When hesitating between neighbours, play the most well-known one: the game tells you if you are close.
  • For the Worldle mode, memorise shapes: Italy's boot, Chile's long strip, Canada's compact northern mass.
  • For capitals, many share starting letters: pair them with cultural clues (language, colonial history, geography).

Who is Flagdle for?

  • For students. A fun way to memorise flags and capitals for geography or general-knowledge exams.
  • For teachers. A daily ritual to add to your classroom: 5 minutes a day to anchor world knowledge.
  • For travelers. Prep your itineraries by recognising the flags and capitals of countries you'll visit.
  • For the curious. 195 countries to discover, from smallest to most populous. A new challenge every day, no commitment.

How do I play Flagdle?
You see a partially masked flag. Type a country name in the search field: if correct you win, otherwise new tiles are revealed and you have one or two tries left. Input is accent-tolerant and suggests countries automatically.
Is the flag the same for everyone?
Yes. The daily flag is determined by the date and identical for every player worldwide. That is what lets you compare scores with your friends or on the daily leaderboard.
When does a new flag drop?
A new flag is available every day at midnight in your local timezone. The daily challenge and quizzes refresh at the same time.
Do I need an account to play?
No. Flagdle is completely free, ad-free, and runs directly in your browser. Your stats are stored locally on your device — no data is sent to a server.
How many countries are covered?
Flagdle covers all 195 UN-recognised countries, with their official flag, capital and continent. Country names are available in French and English.

What are the game modes?
Six modes in total: Flags (the main mode), Capitals, Hints, Worldle (silhouette), Daily Challenge (6 mini-games) and Themed Quiz. Each has its own daily puzzle.
Is Flagdle the same as Flagle?
No. Flagdle (with a D) and Flagle (no D) are two independent games. Flagdle uses the 9-tile reveal system across 3 tries, plus five additional geography game modes.
How is it different from Worldle?
Worldle uses a country silhouette with distance and direction. Flagdle offers its own Worldle mode, but the main mode relies on a flag that reveals itself progressively. Both approaches complement each other.
